Christmas Note from John & Bev

I can't believe it's the holiday season again. It seems like we just get the decorations put away and it's time to get them out again. The months go by so quickly. I guess that's a sign we're getting old - how could that be?  Our year has been uneventful and that's good. It means we've both been healthy and just living the good life. Bev has been very busy with her school work, but she completed her associate degree this semester and has decided to take it easy for a while. It's back to quilting and doing nothing but fun things in 2006.  We did some traveling this year - had a wonderful trip to Oregon where we attended a nephew's wedding and visited with a dear old friend. In September, we spent a week in Galveston with Bev's sibling and were fortunate to be there the week before the city started evacuating for Hurricane Rita. October found us at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri where we spent a few days with old friends.

God blest us with our first great-grandchild this year. Joshua Christopher Adkins made his debut on October 13th and is the most beautiful baby ever! Of course we may be a little prejudiced, but he is a pretty special little guy.  Johnny is still busy volunteering with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. The job got a little hectic when they took on some of the hurricane evacuees along with the others they serve. When you realize how much the evacuees lost, it makes you really thankful for what you have, and willing to share what you can. Our pickup got a lot of use hauling furniture and food. So much use in fact, Johnny decided he needed a new one, so he's the proud owner of a new Ranger.  We do hope that God has blest all of you during this past year and will continue to do so the next. Best wishes for a happy Christmas and a wonderful new year. Our door is always open so anythime you're in the neighboorhood, please stop by.
